ChatGPT Has Been Accused Of Having A ‘London Bias’ After Naming Britain’s Best Hen Party Locations – And Snubbing The ‘Big Two’ – Liverpool & Newcastle
ChatGPT has named the ‘best’ Hen Party location in the UK.
The Artificial Intellegence (AI) bot has sparked some lighthearted controversy by snubbing the UK’s most visited Hen Do location from its shortlist.
An expert in the industry said it proves computers don’t know a thing about having fun – and that 'when it comes to planning a party, you are still better off leaving it to humans.'
ChatGTP has named the UK’s best Hen Party destinations, however, it has left out the two most popular locations for British brides-to-be.
Matt Mavir, Managing Director of Stag and Hen provider Last Night of Freedom, situated in Newcastle, has found it phenominal that the UK's two largest Hen Party Cities - Liverpool and Newcastle - were missed off the list by popular AI bot, ChatGTP.
For years, Liverpool and Newcastle have dominated the Stag and Hen party rankings. This weekend alone, the Liverpool City Region will host more Hen Dos than anywhere in Europe.
However, the AI bot has been accused of having a 'London bias' after omitting both cities from its shortlist of top Hen Party spots – with the table dominated by southern locations.
Matt Mavir, Managing Director of Stag and Hen provider Last Night of Freedom, said: 'This proves you can’t trust a computer to tell you how to have fun.'
Matt, said 'If you asked any normal British adult where to go for a good night out, Newcastle and Liverpool would possibly be the first cities to roll off their tongue.'
He added: 'So it is astonishing neither made ChatGTP’s shortlist, and shows that when it comes to planning a party, you are still better off leaving it to humans.'
Having launched in November 2022, ChatGTP is a chatbot capable of holding conversations and answering questions that you ask it when typing into its chatbox. It will immediatly provide you with an answer to almost any question you can ask it.
When asked what the best British Hen Party destinations were, it named London followed by Edinburgh, hence the light-hearted point of contention.
However, it then opted for Bath and Brighton, with Manchester - the sole entrant from the North of England – rounding off the top five.
Newcastle did make the bot’s shortlist for best Stag destinations – but Liverpool was yet again excluded.
That’s despite industry data which shows the Scouse Party City is currently head and shoulders above anywhere else in Europe when it comes to hosting Hen Parties.

Exclusive figures show that despite London being named the top Hen Do destination, Liverpool will host three times the number of groups as the British Capital – and an incredible 16 times as many as Amsterdam.
Matt Mavir, continued: 'Liverpool has cemented itself as not only one of Europe’s best Stag and Hen destinations, but one of the best places on Earth for a night out.'
He concluded: 'The problem with using AI for making big decisions like where to have your Hen Party is that, while it may be incredibly clever technology, it will never replace the advice of real-world experience of people who have been on a hen weekend – and actually lived a little.'
