Singer-Songwriter, Sweet Baboo, Will Return To The Liverpool City Region For His First Solo Gig In 5 Years
Sweet Baboo will be perofrming live at Future Yard, bringing his evocatively upbeat lyrics and mesmeric melodies to the Liverpool City Region.
Stephen Black, better known by his stage name, Sweet baboo, has previously played in the Liverpool City Region's Borough of Wirral whilst playing as part of Gryff Rhys’ live band back in 2021 at Future Yard.
After a number of listens to Sweet Baboo's latest album, 'The Wreckage', my favourite song is 'The Worry', it is just so joyously optimistic and simply a delight to listen to.
The release of the critically-acclaimed ‘The Wreckage’ has thrilled fans who have missed his songs of romance and joy, conjured from the everyday humdrum of existence that it can feel like sometimes.
His live shows, filled with dry humour, have been similarly absent from music fans’ lives for too long as Black has toured in recent years in the bands of Gruff Rhys, Cate Le Bon and Teenage Fanclub. Now all eyes are on him as he brings songs, old and new, to 19 stages across the country.
The gig is taking place at Future Yard in The Hamilton Quarter which is an exceptionally accessible part of the City Region, with Birkenhead Bus Station just around the corner and Hamilton Square Train Station just a two minute walk away.
If you would like to get tickets to the event you can buy them through Future Yard's Skiddle.
Sweet Baboo is extensively touring the UK, so if you don't live near the Liverpool City Region or can't make it, don't be disheartened as there are plenty more opportunities to make the show!
