The Six Boroughs Will Be Going To The Polls

In the Liverpool City Region, four different elections will be occurring. The City of Liverpool will be the only borough exclusively voting for the Mayor of the City of Liverpool. Whilst the all other boroughs will be able to vote for the Metropolitan Mayor, more commonly referred to as the Liverpool City Region Mayor, or Metro Mayor. In addition to electing local representatives and electing a Commissioner to oversee the county's police.
Breaking Down The Roles Up For Your Vote:
City of Liverpool Mayor.
Liverpool City Region Mayor.
Merseyside Police & Crime Commissioner.
Local Councillor.
The City of Liverpool Mayor is responsible for the City of Liverpool, the central-most Borough in the Region. Which includes areas such as the City Centre, West Derby, Tuebrook, Knotty Ash, Everton, Allerton, Anfield and Old Swan.
The City of Liverpool Mayor is responsible for the running of local services, driving investment to the City and attending a whole host of arrangements to bring attention to a variety of different projects going on.
The Liverpool City Region Mayor is responsible for the wider Liverpool area and covers all six of the boroughs. They are the City of Liverpool and the Boroughs of Wirral, Sefton, Halton, St. Helens and Knowsley. Which includes areas such as Huyton, Bootle, Wallasey, Rainford, Crosby, Birkenhead, Whiston, Litherland, Kirkby, Maghull and Formby.
The City Region Mayor's goal is to better connect the city's boroughs, develop the economy and improve upon investment as well as oversee the devolution deal that Central Government have provided these Mayors with to spend on what the City and its people feel is of the most important.
Local Councillors are directly responsible for your local area and will help resolves any issues that you may have on a day-to-day basis that needs further attention.
The Merseyside Police & Crime Commissioner is responsible for the whole of police in the county and acts as an intermediary between the public and the police.

A number of candidates will be standing for each role on the ballot, but not every party is standing for a seat for each role.
City of Liverpool Mayor
Joanne Anderson - Labour Party.
Roger Bannister - Trade Unionist & Socialist Coalition.
Katie Maria Burgess - Conservative Party.
Thomas Crone - Green Party.
Richard Kemp, CBE - Liberal Democrat.
Steve Radford - Liberal Party.
Stephen Barry Loy Yip - Independent.
Liverpool City Region Mayor
Steve Rotheram - Labour Party (Currently Holding The Position).
Gary Paul Cargill - Green Party.
Jade Louise Marsden - Conservative Party.
David Newman - Liberal Democrat.
Merseyside Police & Crime Commissioner
Kris Brown - Liberal Democrat.
Emily Spurrell - Labour Party.
Bob Teesdale - Conservative Party.
Malcolm James Webster - Reform UK.
Election Results will be released by the local authorities on Friday the 7th May 2021.
