An Evening Walk To Soak In The Liverpool Atmosphere In The Heart Of The City Region
Lockdown is easing and Step 2 is in motion. Bars, cafes, restaurants, pubs & eateries have opened up their shopfronts and laid out outdoor seating to welcome customers back after more than 12 months of continued turbulence.
Liverpudlians from across the Region have gathered together, as we have always loved to do, in the City Centre. However, this time, it is quite different.
We can only gather in small groups, must be spaced out from other customers more than usual and can only show our patronage in the outdoors.
The City Centre is magnetic, pulling locals from all Six Boroughs to it without us even realising it, until that is, when it is gone.
The last 12 months have been agonising for a multitude of people across all generations. Businesses have struggled to keep going and support themselves and their staff; only adding further to the bubbling mental health problems that these harrowing times have brought on.
However, there is now a glimpse of hope with the easing of Lockdown and the vaccination process being well under way.
On a crisp, rather fresh, Spring evening in the heart of the City, the streets are a glow with lamps and heaters. People are gathering to see those that they have not had the company of for far too long.
There was a warm buzz in the air, and the al fresco period that we are living through has just begun, and will hopefully continue until businesses are allowed to welcome their customers back indoors.
