In the tradition of classic oral storytelling, a lantern and two players is all that is needed to tell the spine tingling tale of the Signalman.

The tour starts at the atmospheric Engine Room at Metal, Edge Hill Station and will visit various locations during November.

SYNOPSIS: A ghostly figure has visited the signalman twice already, each time preceding a terrible disaster. When the apparition appears for the third time, it’s up to the signalman to decode its meaning and prevent another catastrophe.

3. REVIEWED: Halloween Lakeside Light Trail (Dog & Family Friendly)

For the whole of the spookiest month of the year, Partridge Lakes Fishery, located in Culcheth in Warrington will be home to the Halloween Lakeside Light Trail.

Halloween Lakeside Light Trail is a splendidly spooky experience for all the family — and the four legged friends too! We were recently invited along to experience the event, something which we found was thoroughly enjoyable for the four of us, well, five, including our dog!

Each of the stops really were such high quality. The Light Trail blends statues of magnificent beasts and spooky creatures. Plus, there is a fantastic collection of actors that creatively brought the spooky season alive. They knew who to say hello to, and who might have been more nervous to the likes of real life ghosts and ghouls wandering around.

You can purchase tickets through the Halloween Lakeside Light Trail website right through until the end of the month.

4. Shoktoberfest Liverpool

Mark your calendars for Thursday the 26th of October, for the most thrilling and chilling event of the year – the spookiest Oktoberfest in Liverpool M&S Bank Arena!

This is not your typical Oktoberfest, it's a frighteningly fun-filled evening that combines the traditional German beer festival with a Halloween theme. From 5pm to 11pm, we promise you an unforgettable night of ghoulish delights and frothy frights.

For tickets to the event, you can purchase them from the TicketQuarter website.
