Tonight's Episode Of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C Will Star John Bishop Alongside Other UK Stars

Liverpudlian actor and comedian John Bishop will appear on tonight's episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C. It is in aide of the charity, Stand Up 2 Cancer (SU2C) and Cancer Research UK, and will involve the star to get involved in all aspects of the show that would be normally seen in a traditional episode of the series.


The Special Episode comprises of an awareness campaign to help fundraise for the Stand Up 2 Cancer charity in which anyone can help raise or donate money by selling their homemade bakes to those in their household, hosting a Bake Off viewing party or creating a baking themed quiz.


John Bishop will star alongside other celebrities including TV presenter and Paralympian Ade Adepitan MBE and journalist and broadcaster Anneka Rice.


John Bishop is known for his comedy tours, DVD Specials, his plethora of television shows and his upcoming role as a companion in Doctor Who. He was born in the Everton Area of the City to parents from Huyton in the Borough of Knowsley, before moving to another part of the Liverpool City Region, growing up in the Runcorn Area of the City's Borough of Halton.


He is the brother of Eddie Bishop, a footballer who has played for local clubs in the Liverpool Region including Tranmere Rovers and Runcorn FC Halton. John too had a period of time as a footballer in which he played for Southport FC.


The soon-to-be Doctor Who companion known for his distinctive voice and quick wit can be seen alongside another successful Liverpool local, Paul Hollywood, who will be judging the actor on his bakes throughout the show.


The show will see four celebrities take on one another over the course of three challenges in the show's traditional format with; The Signature, The Technical and The Showstopper. They will each attempt to show off their baking abilities in an effort to be awarded Star Baker.


Alongside Paul Hollywood will be fellow judge Prue Leith, as well as the show's host, Matt Lucas.


This is the fourth series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C. First appearing on television in March 2018, with each episode typically airing for approximately 58 minutes.


Previous stars to feature on the show include actress Daisy Ridley known for her iconic role as Rey in Star Wars, rapper and YouTuber KSI, comedian Rob Beckett, actor James McAvoy, as well as broadcaster Nick Grimshaw.
