John Dillon’s 'WEARING COLOURS' Presented By Sidehammer Productions Sells Out All Three Nights At Hope Street Theatre In Liverpool City Centre
John Dillon’s 'WEARING COLOURS' has sold out its 3-night run at The Hope Street Theatre in Liverpool City Centre.
Presented by Sidehammer Productions, Directed by Sean Ponzini and starring Dave J Williamson, Daniel Owen, Christopher Lawless and Thom Williamson, WEARING COLOURS returns to Liverpool at the Hope Street Theatre this April.
The Liverpudlian previously covered how this is John Dillon’s 'WEARING COLOURS' first time to be performed in Liverpool for the first time in 15 years.
This impressive achievement selling out 3 nights at the 85-seat capacity Hope Street Theatre shows that there is an evergrowing need for independent theatrical performances to show the stellar capabilities of the City's talented Playwrights and Actors, as well as the talent of those behind the scenes including Directors, Producers and the Stage Crew.
This also raises how there is still much demand to see John Dillon's impactful story told through the magic of the theatre, even after almost 40 years after it was first told.
The play is set in 1985, and based on the events of when Liverpool and Juventus contested the European Cup Final in Brussels. Events off the pitch rendered the match meaningless. Based in an Ostend hotel room, four fans give voice to the emotions of that tragic evening; from the optimistic pre-match expectations to the angry inquests of the immediate aftermath of the death of 39 football fans.
The Play was written by Liverpool Writer, John Dillon, and performed only five months after the tragedy by the Vauxy Theatre.
