CITY OF LIVERPOOL, LIVERPOOL CITY REGION.
Sefton Borough's Maghull-Based Deyes High School Supports Young People & Their Families In North Liverpool By Releasing An Additional 30 Places For This Coming September

Deyes High School in Maghull has opened up opportunities for families across North Liverpool by releasing thirty Year 7 places for September 2026, offering a welcome lifeline to parents still searching for the right secondary school.
The move comes at a time when demand for school places across the Liverpool City Region remains high, with many families left without their first choice due to oversubscription.
For communities in Maghull, Aintree, Lydiate, Kirkby and surrounding areas, the announcement is expected to ease some of that pressure and provide extra options closer to home.
The school is based in a modern, purpose built campus designed with sustainability at its core, offering students access to high quality facilities and learning environments.
“We know how stressful this time can be for families who may not have secured their preferred school place. Being able to offer these additional places is something we are really proud of.” - Head of School, Mrs Beaney, at Deyes High School in Maghull.
Alongside this, Deyes is known for delivering strong GCSE results and a broad curriculum that balances academic achievement with enrichment opportunities in sport, the arts and leadership.
For many families, the appeal also lies in the continuity the school provides. Deyes offers one of the largest sixth form provisions in the area, allowing students to remain in a familiar setting post age sixteen.
From September 2026, this offer will expand further through a new partnership with the Steven Gerrard Academy, opening up even more pathways for students.
The school has also placed a strong focus on supporting pupils as they move from primary to secondary education, with structured transition programmes designed to help Year 7 students settle in quickly and confidently.
Head of School, Mrs Beaney, at Deyes High School in Maghull, said: “We know how stressful this time can be for families who may not have secured their preferred school place. Being able to offer these additional places is something we are really proud of.”
She added: “Deyes has always been at the heart of our community and this is an opportunity to support more local children with a high quality education in a supportive school where they can thrive.”
Families interested in applying for one of the places are being advised to act quickly, as availability is limited. Parents and carers can also contact Rachel Turner at Lydiate Learning Trust via contact@lydiatelearningtrust.co.uk for further information. More details are available on the Deyes High School website.
