Sam Jones-Arthur's Situational Comedy, 'Scousers In America... At Christmas' — "It's A Very Feel-Good And Funny Scouse Story Set In New York"

A new situational comedy written by Liverpool actor & playwright, Sam Jones-Arthur, is coming to the stage this festive season to The Hope Street Theatre in The Georgian Quarter.
A Scouse couple who have recently moved to New York City are joined by friends from back home to celebrate a birthday and the run-up to Christmas, what could possibly go wrong?
The show's writer, Sam Jones-Arthur, who also plays the character of Ste, said: "It’s a very feel-good and funny Scouse story set in New York."
Set in New York City, Zara, a rising social media star and presenter, has recently taken a luxurious job offer and moved from Liverpool to New York City with her “boring” boyfriend Phil.
Feeling left out and missing their best mate, Ste and Chrissy have booked their tickets and are ready to light up The Big Apple just in time for Christmas. After being dragged along to an influencer event on the first night of the trip, Ste meets an American girl, Grace.
With his holiday romance in full swing, Ste invites Grace out with the gang. Following a few revelations, what was looking to be the perfect Christmas turns into one that will live long in the gang's memory for years to come.
If you're looking for something a bit different this Christmas period, this situational comedy is all about bringing the fun to the audience, aiming to portray an aspect of realism through a comedic lens, with an experienced team behind the production.

The cast of local actors and actresses are portraying the varied cast of Scousers In America. Zara is played by Molly Riley, Phil is played by Sean Howard, Ste is played by Sam Jones-Arthur, Grace is played by Faye Caddick, Evie is played by Shannon Griffiths, and Chrissy is played by Johnny Sedgwick-Davies. The stageplay is written by Sam Jones-Arthur, with the Technical Director being Phil Halfpenny.
Please note, age advisory is 16+ as there is some Strong Language using in the production. Tickets are available through their TicketQuarter page. It is running over 2 consecutive nights on Thursday the 11th of December and Friday the 12th of December 2025 at The Hope Street Theatre.
