The opulent Edwardian-Baroque Manchester Opera House, situated in the Spinningfields neighbourhood, is enjoying playing host to a production as part of the 'Manchester Gets It First' programme, with this show previously only being seen on Broadway in the USA.

Something Rotten is showing until the end of this week, and with MCR only being a half-an-hour train journey away from Liverpool Lime Street, it's the perfect opportunity to Oxford Road or Deansgate. Tickets are available through the Something Rotten The Musical website.

Following the story of The Bottom Brothers, Nick and Nigel, and set in 1595, during the late Elizabethan Era of the Tudor Period. The story follows the brothers as Nick uses some rather conniving mathods to try and best The Bard himself, William Shakespeare, or simply, Will. Who is portrayed as a charasmatic, self-centrered and dastardly fellow, all the while being utterly hilarious, that is wanting to ensure that Nick Bottom stands no chance in beating him at his own game, that being... the theatre.
