QUARRY, one of the city's leading independent music and arts venues, has announced its relocation to 45 Hardman Street, the former home of the legendary Magnet & Sink Club.

Following the closure of its original premises in May 2025, the move marks an exciting new chapter for QUARRY, allowing it to expand its programming, enhance its live music offering, and continue to support grassroots artists in a space that is already drenched with deep musical heritage.

Having originally established itself in Love Lane, QUARRY has built a strong reputation for curating cutting-edge live music, club nights, and LGBTQI+-centred events.

“This is a grassroots project through and through, with musicians, artists and creatives doing the work and coming together to create a space for everyone to enjoy.” - A joint statement from the QUARRY Team.

The team feel the move to Hardman Street provides an opportunity to grow their vision, in a venue with increased capacity and a central City Centre location.

With a purpose-built basement ideal for live performances and multiple rooms allowing for a dedicated bar and event space, the new location retains the spirit of QUARRY while significantly expanding its potential.

We recognise that this iconic site is steeped in history. We aim to acknowledge what has come before us while also adding something new. Namely, a 250-cap community-focused music venue with high-quality sonics and a forward-thinking programme - right in the bustling city centre.”

They team added: “As we have said many times before, what has made QUARRY so special are the creative communities, artists, and audiences that have made it home over the past 5 years. We hope that you will join us in this new chapter, as you have previously.”

The QUARRY team, said: “Right now is a difficult time for our creative community. It is with great sadness that we are unable to share this journey with our friend Joe. Joe was a part of our QUARRY family, performing countless gigs and volunteering to help out with our recent building works.”

They concluded: “We’ll be carrying their kindness, creative energy and huge spirit with us as we enter this new era. Everyone look after yourselves and look out for each other, and we will see you soon. Stay tuned for progress and opening updates over the coming weeks.”
