Christmas-mad Scouse Mum Shirley Mcalle has helped families squirrel away tens of thousands for this year’s festivities.

A Mum from Wavertree has been dubbed Liverpool’s very own ‘Mrs Christmas’ after helping local families save a staggering £32,390 ahead of this year’s festivities.
Christmas-mad Shirley McCalle, 62, started saving all the way back in January and enjoys having over 30 people at her house to celebrate Christmas.
That takes some planning, but Shirley is such a savvy saver that she not only squirrels cash away for her own family - she’s also taken on the responsibility of helping friends and others in her community.
This year, the proud Scouse Mum has helped around 30 families save a whopping £32,390 with Park Christmas Savings, with every penny going on Christmas presents, decorations and food.

Christmas-obsessed Shirley said her favourite festive film is the first Home Alone and, while she loves giving great gifts, she is also hoping her presents this year are slightly better than last Christmas.
Shirely said: 'Last year my family did a secret Santa and my brother forgot about my present and pinched me a pair of socks from his draw. He definitely won’t be doing that again this year!'
But her favourite thing about the season is spending time with her extended family, with over 30 people making the trip to Wavertree to enjoy Christmas turkey together at Shirley’s.
She added: 'It’s the best time of the year, getting to see all the family I don’t get to see, as long as I don’t have to do the washing up!'
Christmas is a busy time for everyone, but especially Shirley. Her son’s birthday is on the 15th of December, so she needs an extra financial boost around the festive period.
She said: 'It’s so close to Christmas so I’ve always known that around Christmas time, I needed to be financially secure. With Park Christmas Savings, I have Christmas and my son’s birthday sorted and I do not need to worry one bit.'
Shirley’s drive to help people save comes from personal experience after she found herself financially struggling one Christmas with a son desperate for lots of presents.
