A Brand-New SPAR Is Set To Open On Liverpool’s London Road, Combining A Convenience Store With A Community Hub Element Through Integrating SPAR's Own Brand Coffee Shop, 'Cheeky Coffee'

London Road's Monument Place, in the heart of The Fabric District, has welcomed a new SPAR outlet, further enhancing the area, which complements the wealth of developments the area has recently enjoyed.

The Liverpool thoroughfare welcomed the opening of the new store on Thursday the 4th of June, combining a café-style seating area selling hot and cold food, alongside a comprehensive convenience store offer with a wide fresh food selection.

SPAR’s coffee brand ‘Cheeky Coffee’ will be available in-store at the touch of a button through a bean-to-cup machine, offering quality coffee at value prices. There will be a wider selection of hot and cold drinks served from the machine with the backdrop of a comfortable café area.

Breakfast food options will include pastries as well as bacon & sausage barms, alongside a hot drink in SPAR’s Breakfast Meal Deal.

At lunchtime sandwiches, sausage rolls, burgers and more will be offered and the evening menu will add salads and other light bites.

Customers will be able to take advantage of SPAR’s Standard Meal Deal at £4.50 or less at lunchtime, including a sandwich, snack and a drink, with its best in convenience £5.99 Premium Meal offering hot food, a snack and a drink.

The new store is set over 3000 square feet and has created 15 new jobs, bringing additional new life to the area which has seen ongoing change and continuing improvements over recent years.

Owner & Manager of SPAR Monument Place, Mo Merikhi, who studied in the City, is excited about the opportunity and what’s in store for customers, he said: “It’s an up and coming road with a lot of regeneration and I was presented with this great opportunity of a good-sized shop, which in turn gave me the chance to create something more than just a simple convenience store; to do something different”.

He added: “I want to develop a social hub to give something back to the community”.

Mo, said: “You have students around here and office workers; you have single people and many who are working away from home.”

Mo added: “The idea is to bring everybody together and make a place where people can come in and do their shopping or come in for a coffee, or both! Or where they can meet up and chat with friends while having a drink and a bite to eat.”

The store will be open from 6am to midnight Monday to Saturday, ensuring its accessibility for all workers, students and residents, and it will open from 8am to 10pm on Sundays. Its café will be open throughout opening hours.

Other features include an external parcel locker supporting DPD, Royal Mail, UPS services and an Amazon locker, which will be installed inside the store after opening.

Mo added: “I never do normal, and I wanted a store that benefited customers as well as me as a business owner. I like to make a difference wherever I go.”

A soft opening will took place on Thursday the 4th of June from midday and allowed customers and families to get to know the store and welcome them to it.

At a date yet to be confirmed, later in the month of June, there wil be a Grand Opening Day where SPAR mascots will entertain children, there will be live music, alongside in store activities and promotions throughout the official launch day later this month.
