Energy and construction specialist Ecogee has named its new Operations Director as the organisation enters its second year as part of The Regenda Group.

With more than 15 years of industry experience, Maria O’Connor will step up to oversee Ecogee’s operations while leading on the development and transformation of the business.

The firm based in Aintree in the Liverpool City Region Borough of Sefton is on track to hit a £18million figure turnover in the next year, while also welcoming 12 new members of staff to support increased energy construction projects across the North West.

Founding member, Brendan Helm will continue as Ecogee’s Managing Director, while Maria will support to help the company meet its strategic objectives, including achieving operational, financial, growth and diversification targets.

Ecogee’s Managing Director, Brendan Helm, said: 'Maria has worked in senior roles in the construction industry for more than a decade, and her expertise is something we truly value here at Ecogee. Maria will continue to lead the delivery of our excellent retrofit service to customers. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate her in her new role.'

Since 2012, Ecogee has strived to stamp out fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions across the North West. Set up in response to the launch of the Government’s energy efficiency programme, the business provides energy construction solutions to residents in Merseyside and beyond, working with partners including Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Prima Housing, Cobalt Housing and more.

Ecogee joined forces with The Regenda Group in 2023, working closely with fellow Regenda subsidiary, M&Y Maintenance and Construction, to help grow the company’s expertise in retrofit and green technology installation.

'Maria has worked in senior roles in the construction industry for more than a decade, and her expertise is something we truly value here at Ecogee.' - Brendan Helm, Ecogee’s Managing Director.

Gill Kelly, Managing Director of M&Y, shared why Maria was the right person for the new role. She said: 'Maria’s strong performance, dedication and dynamism, has secured her a promotion to the role of Operations Director within Ecogee.'

Gill added: 'Maria heads up a team of talented individuals who are improving the energy efficiency of homes across the North West whilst delivering real, tangible social value as part of every contract, which is at the heart of everything Ecogee deliver.'

As part of her new role, Maria will continue to support the successful integration of Ecogee into The Regenda Group, while also making recommendations on infrastructure and system changes to support and enable the growth of the business.

Maria, said: 'I want to thank everyone for this amazing opportunity. I am very excited for the year ahead. We have a fantastic team that I am very proud to be a part of.'
