Fangtastic Fun For The Whole Family at Warrington's Time Square This Halloween

Warrington's Time Square is gearing up for a week of fangtastic family fun this October half term, with spooktacular events and eerie entertainment running from Saturday the 25th of October to Saturday the 1st of November.

The town centre destination, home to Warrington Market, Cineworld and a mix of restaurants and attractions, will be transformed into a hive of Halloween activity, bringing thrills, chills and plenty of pumpkin power for all ages.

Cllr Hitesh Patel, Cabinet Member for Economy, Growth and Quality Work, said: “Time Square is the perfect place for families to enjoy Halloween this year. This wide mix of events brings the community together, supports local businesses and gives children and adults alike the chance to have fun and make memories safely.”

The spooky season kicks off on Saturday, October 25th at Gravity Active, where little monsters can bounce, dance and join in Halloween contests from 6pm to 8pm. Fancy dress is encouraged and themed treats will keep everyone’s energy levels high.

Pumpkin carving takes centre stage on Tuesday the 28th of October and Thursday the 30th of October as Louie’s Pizza hosts creative carving sessions at 4pm. Budding artists can design their own pumpkin to take home, with tools provided and a Louie’s Kids Meal Deal included. Tickets are £10 per child and available on the website for Louie’s Pizza's.

The fun continues on Thursday the 30th of October when Warrington Market welcomes comic book artist Marc Jackson, known for his work on BEANO and The Phoenix. Aspiring illustrators can bring their spooky ideas to life in one-hour workshops at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm. Tickets are £8 per child, including materials, and early booking is recommended.

Families should also keep their eyes peeled for some prehistoric party guests on the 30th of October, as dinosaurs stomp through Time Square from 11am to 3pm. Expect roaring Megalosaurus encounters, mischievous baby dinos and the fangtastically fun Spookysaurus shows.

Halloween Day itself, Friday the 31st of October, is set to be a real scream as the GO WILD experience returns to Warrington Market from 10am to 3pm, giving children the chance to meet snakes, geckos, snails and cockroaches in interactive workshops with the Animal Teach Team. Around the square, visitors can expect surprise appearances from pumpkin heads, Wednesday Addams and even the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus.

The frightful festivities wrap up on Saturday the 1st of November with the Batida Rio Zombie Walk. The undead parade will shuffle, drum and dance its way from Sankey Street to Time Square from 6pm, raising money for Warrington Speak Up, which supports local mental health and social care services. Donations can be made in cash or via QR code, with all proceeds going to the charity.

Cineworld will also keep the scares coming throughout October with its Horror Season, featuring A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge on Wednesday, October 29th and a secret screening on Halloween night. Tickets are £5.99 online.

Cllr Patel added: “This half term, Time Square will be bursting with Halloween spirit. It’s a brilliant line-up that mixes creativity, fun and a few spooky surprises along the way.”
