North Sixty4 Relaunches At Hard Days Night Hotel After A 6 Month-Long Refurbishment

The Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool has relaunched its restaurant after a 6-month long refusbishment and refitting, with a brand-new name to match the new look and feel, North Sixty4.

Taking inspiration from its location and the famous Beatles song - When I’m Sixty Four - it follows an £87,000 refurbishment for The North John Street venue, the first since it and the hotel opened in 2008.

While still celebrating The Beatles, the Hard Days Night Hotel lays claim to being the only Beatles-inspired hotel in the world, it will pay homage to more of the city’s musical and Scouse heritage, from Cilla Black to Atomic Kitten, as well as its culture and legendary sporting history.

It marks a move to give the restaurant a personality of its own, standing alone from the hotel and creating a superb city dining experience under the leadership of General Manager of its first Liverpool born & bred Liam Baker-Bellew, brother of boxer and TV personality Tony Bellew. The vision was to honour the heritage of Liverpool and celebrate its iconic celebrity status which is engrained in Liam's DNA.

It’s taken six months to transform the 98-cover restaurant which has been given a touch of glamour with chandelier-style light fittings, marble-feel tables and faux-leather chairs in rich autumnal colours of reds and golds.

During the day, the light shines in through the huge windows giving it a bright and fresh daytime feel, while in the evenings, it offers a cosier and more intimate atmosphere like that of a cabaret lounge.

There are plans to paint the iron gates at the entrance to the corner restaurant red, echoing those at Strawberry Field, and create zebra-crossing steps leading up to it in homage to the Beatles’ Abbey Road album cover, proof that the Fab 4 remain a focus and helping it all ‘Come Together.’

An exclusive menu from new food and beverage manager Jack Moss sees a varied selection of dishes like grill favourites sirloin steak, lamb chops and roast chicken, to pasta and sumptuous fish dishes - such as sea bass with creamy saffron sauce - and classics like steak or chicken pie, bangers and mash, and an ‘amazing’ Penny Lane Fish & Chips.

Included are great value deals like a lunch menu with a main course and soft drink for £10, and a Fab Four Menu with two courses for £19.64.

Alfie Abbott, Business Development Manager for Hard Days Night, said: “We felt that the restaurant needed to reflect more of the city, its warmth, charm and personality as well as, of course, The Beatles.”

He said: “We wanted to offer something for everyone and all ages, with an atmosphere that lends itself to a really nice, casual style of dining with elements of fine dining, not least in terms of top-notch service and beautiful surroundings, and local staff who know everything about the menu, the food and the history of where we are.”

He adds: “It is accessible at the same time. We don’t want people to have to break the bank to come to us but can come and spend just shy of £20 and have a really great night.”

Alfie added: “At the end of the day we want to deliver an exceptional guest experience at an accessible price point. We want to be known for great service, great food, a great atmosphere and friendly staff so people don’t just come once but return again and again.”
