Liverpool Artist, John Charles, also known affectionately as 'Scouse Van Gogh', has created a series entitled 'Speed, Focus, Legacy', which features six pieces celebrating the pinnacle of Formula 1 racing last Summer.

With the season now on hold until May when drivers return for the Miami Grand Prix, the artist decided now was the time for fans to be able to get up close and personal with the artwork at his private gallery in the seaside town of Southport.

This exhibition will mark the UK debut for this series which so far has only been shown in Monaco during the 2025 Grand Prix.

Discussing the exhibition John, said: "Formula 1 is a sport like no other, where drivers and engineers look to combine physical and mechanical excellence to achieve victory."

He added: "This series looks to celebrate that with a painting of the iconic Mercedes AMG W13 car from the 2022 F1 season, as well as portraits of some of the biggest icons in the sport from Senna to UK stars, like Hamilton and Norris.

John, said: "The original concept was to take this exhibition to Abu Dhabi for the Grand Prix but when it became clear that would not happen, we took a quick pit stop and decided while there's a gap in the F1 calendar and a long weekend, why don't we open the exhibition ourselves on home soil. "

Each painting brings his unique explosive style and blend of colour and is finished using a pallet knife and his signature golden lines

This is the latest exhibition the artist has brought to Southport since opening his first private gallery and studio space in 2025. As well as displaying the series, the artist will also have prints of his other work on display for sale.

John Charles, who's fans include F1 driver Valtteri Bottas, academy award winning actor Stephen Graham and professional footballer (and Greek Scouser) Kostas Tsimikas, will be on hand during the two day exhibition which will run on Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th of April from 10am until 3pm.

John added: "The UK has been a breading ground for racing talent for years and in this series I wanted to celebrate some of the current and top talent, including Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris."
