I was absolutely ecstatic to be invited to review Guinness at Pogue Mahone, and as an avid Guinness fanboy, this invite felt like a dream come true. So with my Guinness Christmas Jumper in tow, we headed to the beautifully festive Seel Street venue.

I recently covered how Pogue's were personally selected as a recipient of The Guinness Harp, with only 35 establishments in the UK being chosen by Guinness, so that set the expectations high. Though, I can safely say that Pogue Mahone delivered upon that seal of approval.

Beautifully poured and well-maintained Guinness, in a crisp and cosy environment. A worthy winner of a spot on The Guinness Harp Guide 2026 List.

Plus, we enjoyed some Baby Guinness shots and some bags of Tayto's Christmas Tree Tortillas, which were Glazed Gammon flavoured.

I'm always a very conversational person; however, something I particularly loved was the fact that in Pogue Mahone's, plenty of their patrons were only too happy to chat, which is exactly what the purpose of a pub is, that's where its soul lies. It's about community, and feeling immersed in a staple part of the UK's culture, where no one is lonely or left out.

The staff were as friendly as you could wish for, with Deano, Abbie and Co making us feel very welcome.

The Guinness Harp Guide is personally selected by Guinness, with The Liverpudlian having the privilege to cover Pogue's exciting news earlier this month. With only 35 establishments across Great Britain chosen, earning a spot on the List makes it a coveted position for Pogue Mahone, and to be chosen as part of the Guide's inaugural year, 2026.
