  • New data shows searches for “date night” have dropped by 12% in the last year, while over half of Brits admit they’re not dating at all because of rising costs.

  • Average date night now costing £104.41, now making romance a luxury.

  • Restaurant Bar & Grill has launched “The Weekend Cut” – a premium £25 steak menu designed to bring back the magic of weekend date nights, without the hefty price tag.

  • From Leeds to Liverpool, Birmingham to Chester, couples can enjoy a 275g Native Breed rump steak with garlic butter, fries and and all the trimmings, for less than half the cost of the UK’s average date night.

In response to the declining date night culture, Restaurant Bar & Grill has launched The Weekend Cut, a specially curated £25 menu intended to make weekend date nights accessible again.

The upmarket restaurant has launched the new menu in a bid to make romantic dining experiences the preferred choice for couples once more and reverse the decline in date nights, with less couples seeing restaurants as a cost-effective date night option.

According to Google Search data, ‘Date night’ searches have declined 12% year on year and the average price of a date night is said to cost couples an eyewatering £104.41, according to research by GIGA Calculator earlier this year.

In another study looking at the impact of the cost-of-living crisis, love was the real cost, with 54% of Brits admitting they’re no longer dating at all because of rising prices.
