I recently had the opportunity, alongside Lauren, to enjoy Ma Boyle's Christmas Menu which is available now to book so you can enjoy your celebrations in one of the most historic dining venues in Liverpool City Centre.

There was a festive buzz in the air and the atmosphere was so very cosy and intimate. When entering into Ma Boyle's, it feels like stepping back in time and you can feel the rich history of the venue steeped all around you.

It is only enhanced by the iconic decor of framed White Star Line paintings, traditional interior and the warm glow of the candlelit tables that provide the perfect opportunity for you to meet with loved ones during this special festive season.

On a crisp evening we walked along the alcove to Ma Boyle's and were warmly greeted by how, from the outside, Ma Boyle's draws you in with its outdoor lighting draped across the street and illuminating its surrounding. The picturesque St. Nick's Church is located quite literally on its doorstep.

Upon entering we where warmly welcomed by Ma Boyle's friendly staff and the glistening Christmas tree that greets you into the establishment is beautifully decorated and it exemplifies just how much effort and attention to detail they put into every aspect of the venue.

Our table was dressed with Christmas crackers and located in the perfect spot, snug against the wall with the most comfortable upholstered seating, finished off with delightful fairy lights lining the top of the walled seats and really bringing to life the warm tones of the traditional patterned wallpaper.

For the starter, we both enjoyed Ma Boyle's fantastic classic prawn cocktail sprinkled with sweet paprika and served with fresh lettuce and rustic bread. It was served beautifully and was an amalgamation of flavors, especially with the lemon adding some zest.

Our main meals varied, with Lauren having chosen the beef and I having selected the turkey roast dinner. To say they were amazing is an understatement.

The meat was succulent and the fusion of vegetables - a taste sensation. The Pigs in Blankets, are, as with those at Ma's sister venue Tempest on Tithebarn, absolutely perfect and so moreish (You can explore my review of Tempest on Tithebarn's Christmas Small Plates Menu too).

All of this gorgeous food is complimented with a very generous coating of gravy which brings the roast dinner at Ma Boyle's to a whole new level of festive luxury.

When asked if we would like a little break between the main and dessert we opted for around ten minutes to savour the roast and let the meal settle a little before feasting on our desserts.

It was definitely worth the wait. The sticky toffee pudding was divine and I genuinely cannot overstate this enough.

The food looked so delicious that two guests on the table next to us pre-booked a table to bring their friends for a festive roast dinner in the coming weeks.

As always, the hospitality was delightful and the staff were kind and attentive to every table in the venue. The stunning traditional decor really brings to life the venue and will make your visit as fantastic as it did with mine.

Please Note: Hospitality was provided by Ma Boyle's for review. Although if we had honestly not enjoyed the meal, atmosphere and had a genuine love for the venue, then this review would not have been published on The Liverpudlian, nor would this much effort have gone into conveying to you how great Ma Boyle's truly is.
