Royal Liver Building Caught Alight By Flare
Liverpool FC fan celebrations that have been condemned by both the City of Liverpool Mayor and Liverpool City Region Mayor, as well as the City Council, have been going into the night with developments progressively unfolding as videos appear online of incidents occurring on the Pier Head.
A video shared on Twitter by user 'Kell' shows a fire on one of the lower balconies of The Royal Liver Building. The video shows a crowded, noisy Pier Head full of Liverpool FC fans that have ignored the requests of both of Liverpool's Mayors and the Liverpool City Council's pleads.
On Friday evening the City Council said: 'do not have the legal powers to move groups of people on'. These scenes come after Liverpool FC was crowned winners of the English Premier League on Thursday 25th June 2020.
It is unclear if the flare/ firework was a stray or deliberately aimed at the Royal Liver Building, and if the person responsible was from the Liverpool Region or a Liverpool FC fan.
